Firefighters from Ladder 36 rescue

CLEVELAND – News 5 reports that Cleveland firefighters rescued three children in a house fire on Wednesday.

The fire occurred in the 3500 block of East 153rd Street in the city’s Mt. Pleasant neighborhood.

Cleveland EMS told News 5 that a 14-year-old girl, a 11-year-old girl, and a 10-year-old boy were transported to MetroHealth Medical Center.

The 14-year-old was reported to be in serious condition. The other two were stable.

Fire department officials said that the children were rescued from the second floor by Fifth Battalion firefighters assigned to Ladder 36.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
