Chicago (IL) Firefighter Dies Days After Suffering Critical Injuries in Belmont Apartment Fire

Chicago Firefighter Mashawn Plummer has died from injuries he sustained fighting a fire in an apartment in the Belmont neighborhood last Thursday.

Plummer became trapped and declared a Mayday while fighting an early morning fire in a basement in a building at 3100-block of North Marmora Avenue. A resident of the building died as well.

Plummer had marked his one-year anniversary with the department in December.
