Two Malden firefighters ran into trouble when a ceiling collapsed on them at a fire in a mixed-use commercial building Monday evening.

Firefighters were called to 138 Eastern Ave. around 5 p.m. by a report of an attic fire in a two-story, concrete block commercial building.

Upon arrival, flames and smoke were showing and the fire escalated to three alarms.
