CBP Officer Involved in Fatal Shooting of Texas Firefighter

LAREDO, Texas — A Laredo firefighter is dead, and a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer has been detained after a shooting Wednesday evening, according to LMTonline.

The shooting occurred at the Avery Village Apartments at approximately 10:20 p.m.

Officials say both individuals were off-duty at the time of the shooting.

The incident is being investigated by the Laredo Police Department and the U.S. CBP Office of Professional Responsibility.

The Laredo Fire Department issued a statement,

“Laredo Fire Department is going to reserve comment at this time due to the ongoing investigation.”
