Cambridge (MA) Church Destroyed by Fire Hours After Easter Mass

Faith Lutheran Church in Cambridge caught fire Sunday, just hours after Easter mass.

The Cambridge Fire Department responded to the multi-alarm fire at Faith Lutheran Church on Broadway shortly before 5:30 p.m.

Firefighters initially made an interior attack, but were forced to withdraw after smoke filled the church.

Firefighters evacuated nearby residents from a time, for fear the steeple would collapse. Ultimately, the steeple survived.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
