California Firefighters Rescue Girl Trapped in Apartment Fire

POMONA, California — Los Angeles County firefighters rescued an eight-year-old girl from an apartment fire in Pomona, according to KTLA.

Firefighters responded to the fire at approximately 7:00 p.m. and were told there was a person trapped inside.

“We were able to use a hose line to knock back some of this intense flames, while simultaneously additional firefighters were able to crawl on their hands and knees and do a search of the apartment,” said PIO Sean Ferguson. “It was during this search that they located one, young female who was trapped and hiding inside her bathtub.”

The girl was flown to Children’s Hospital Orange County.

Investigators believe the point of origin was the Christmas tree in the living room.
