Brookland, Arkansas Firefighter Injured in Training Fall

JONESBORO, Arkansas — A Brookland firefighter has been released from the hospital after suffering an injury during training, according to KAIT.

PIO John Burns with the Brookland Fire Protection District said that the injured firefighter was in a class at the Arkansas Fire Academy Northeast Training Center in Jonesboro when the injury occurred.

The firefighter had become disoriented and stepped out of a window thinking it was a door.

The firefighter was transported to St. Bernards Medical Center and later transferred to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee.

Burns said that the fall was a traumatic experience for the class of 30 students and peer counseling has been offered.
