BOISE, Idaho — Boise Fire Department started the week without their fire chief.

CBS2 reports that Boise Fire Chief Dennis Doan has been placed on paid administrative leave.

A spokesperson for the city said that Mayor Lauren McLean, Chief Doan, and the Human Resources department made the decision together.

No details were provided other than that is was a personnel matter.

Battalion Chief Tom Moore told CBS2 that the decision left many wondering what is going to happen.

Moore said he wondered if Doan was retiring when he first heard the news.
