Bloomington Fire Department has added a mobile integrated healthcare unit to the department to handle some calls that don’t need a full EMS response, and also serve unmet needs.
The unit follows up with patients who need services once their immediate emergency health need has been resolved and helps connect those patients with the services they need.
The department has two members of the unit now, and it plans to add two more.
