Keeping CAL FIRE’s fleet of apparatus rolling takes an big team of heavy equipment mechanics.

The team performs everything from routine maintenance, to troubleshooting apparatus performance issues, to going on scene to fix a rig that breaks down. All done with the goal of keeping the apparatus safe and in service.

The department made this video to give prospective employees a taste of what life is like in the heavy equipment mechanic corps.
