Baltimore (MD) Fire Department Launches Training to Spot Human Trafficking

Baltimore firefighters can add human trafficking to the list of problems they will be trained to spot under a new training program the city has launched.

Human trafficking is defined as using force, fraud, or coercion to lure victims and force them into labor or commercial sexual exploitation. It’s a growing problem in Baltimore, and firefighters are being trained to spot its victims and refer suspected cases to police, CBS Baltimore reports.

The department hopes its training program can be a model for other communities.
