
Incident in Queens described as suicide by chemicals

QUEENS, New York – WABC reports that a Queens man is accused of killing his father and possibly poisoning three other members of his family.
Detectives arrived to the apartment in Queens Village Thursday morning to find a 72-year-old man dead with stab wounds and the others unconscious.
Firefighters responded at approximately 6:30 a.m. to Hempstead Avenue and 221st Street in the Queens Village section.
A post on Twitter by NYCFireWire stated that Engine Company 304 reported a mass suicide by chemicals.
The deceased man’s 72-year-old wife, another son in his 30s, and that son’s 29-year-old wife, are all in critical condition, and detectives are looking into whether the suspect was attempting some sort of religious ceremony.
All three were found unconscious, lying side by side on a mattress.
Each one had a water bottle near them containing an unknown substance.
