LA County Fire Department resources were dispatched to a reported commercial structure fire at the intersection of South Street & Alburtis Avenue in the City of Artesia.

First arriving units on scene found a one story commercial building with heavy smoke showing, which appeared to have been coming from the Dollar Tree. It seems like the fire may have to started inside to the rear of the store and made its way forward, then shifting to the West where it took two more businesses down with it.

Firefighters remained on scene for hours after battling the stubborn blaze to make sure all the hotspots were completely out during the overhaul operation.

LA County Fire’s Dozer Team also responded to assist in the overhaul process.

The fire took 4-5 hours to be fully extinguished. Unknown how the fire was caused at this time.
