Ancram (NY) Firefighter Dies on Emergency Call

Stewart Hunt, a 21-year veteran firefighter most recently serving with the Ancram Volunteer Fire Company, died while responding to a call Thursday night.

Hunt suffered a medical emergency during the call. First responders attempted unsuccessfully to revive him.

Hunt served on three different fire departments over his career, beginning it and ending it on the Ancram department, which he returned to in September of last year. He was a former EMT and driver for Community Rescue Squad.

Hunt, 37, is survived by a wife and five-year-old son as well as his parents and brother. You can read his obituary here.
