AKRON, Ohio — An investigation is underway after a 20-year-old woman was found dead in the attic of a home Saturday following a fire.

The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as Haleigh Horger, an Akron resident. The Medical Examiner’s Office says Horger was pronounced dead at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center about one hour after the fire was reported.

The fire occurred at about 5:50 p.m. Saturday at the home on the 1100 block of Vernon Odom Boulevard in the Sherbondy Hill neighborhood. WKYC Channel 3 reports that fire and smoke were coming from the home’s top floor when firefighters arrived.

The fire department tells WKYC that two firefighters were injured during the fire and also were taken to the hospital. Another person at the scene also was taken to the hospital, WKYC reports. All of the injured reportedly were in stable condition.
