Pre-arrival video of a commercial structure fire
Friday evening around 18:00 Whitehall Fire Department was sent to the rear of 2121 North First Avenue on a structural fire. When I arrived about 4 minutes later the fire was already through the roof. The structure looked like an old barn style building that was being used as a wood working business.
Whitehall Engine 3 (LC3831) arrived first and brought in a water supply from the front of 2121 North First Avenue and up the alley to the fire. A hand line and a 2 1/2 hand line were stretched. The hand line operated on the north exposure and the larger line hit the main body of fire. The Squrt on Engine 3 went in-service to hit the main body of fire with the larger hand line.
Catasauqua Ladder 231 came in the alley from the south side and set up. Exposures on sides 1, 2 and 4 were starting to smoke. The vinyl siding on all the exposures melted.
