

Roanoke firefighter injured during early morning house fire

ROANOKE, Virginia – WSLS reported that a house fire in Roanoke led to a complete collapse of the structure and injured a firefighter.
The Roanoke Fire EMS Department responded at approximately 5:45 a.m. to a fire in the 700 block of Bullitt Avenue SE and saw the structure was heavily involved in smoke and flames.

WSLS states that during fireground operations a firefighter saw a partial collapse in the foundation of the structure and warned firefighters. Shortly after the warning, the entire structure collapsed.
One firefighter was struck by debris and was treated on the scene.
