Vehicles Driving Over Firehose Hinders Firefighters at Baltimore Lumber Fire

Vehicles repeatedly driving over firehoses at the Camp Small fire in Baltimore made a tough job even tougher Friday, WBAL reports.

Firefighters were called to the Camp Small fire around 5:15 p.m. Thursday in Woodberry, and firefighters remained in “defense mode” for hours as wind and limited access hindered them.

As the fire dragged on, a hose on old Spring Lane developed a geyser of water spraying into the air. The issue began when vehicles repeatedly drove over a fire hose deployed to the scene, causing a leak.

The situation worsened when a city truck salting the area ran over the hose, snagging it in the truck’s grill. The driver attempted to dislodge it manually before leaving the scene, leaving the hose severely damaged and water gushing onto the street.
