The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official on-duty death of Lieutenant Mario J. Moya, 51, of the Jacksonville (FL) Fire and Rescue Department on August 17, 2021.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Lieutenant Mario J. Moya unselfishly served his community while continuing to expose himself to the virus responding to EMS calls. He passed away from the virus on Tuesday, August 17, 2021.
