Fire Department of New York (FDNY)

A two-alarm house fire in Flatlands (NY) Tuesday night left a firefighter hospitalized and several other firefighters with minor injuries, reports brooklynpaper.com.

A burst hose line and blown hydrant led more than 100 FDNY personnel to the scene of the fire at 1842 E. 49th St. just after 7 p.m., at which they found heavy flames and smoke emitting from a standalone two-and-a-half-story private dwelling.

About 25 FNDY units worked to extinguish the fire, which spread to the first two floors of the structure.

No residents were found trapped inside, and the fire was placed under control at 8:45 p.m., the report says.
