
Change in tactics during this commercial structure fire
Los Angeles Fire Department was called out to the 900 block of San Julian Street last Friday night for a reported structure fire.
First arriving units found a two story commercial building with heavy smoke showing from the roof. Firefighters initiated an offensive attack on the fire.

After having difficulty to locate the fire, firefighters switched into a defensive operation due to worsening conditions. Firefighters later switched back into the offensive mode after getting the fire more under control. This switch was made to extinguish the remaining pockets of fire inside of the structure.

It took more than 100 firefighters to knock down the blaze in just over two hours. One firefighter was injured and was transported in fair condition.
LAFD arson teams are investigating the cause of the fire.
