May 5, 2021. A mother and toddler son jump to safety after fire breaks out in their home at 1314 Leonard St. Both were transported for checkout but are okay.

Indianapolis Fire Department​ crews arrived to find heavy fire and reports of entrapment in the two story residence. Aggressive attack marks the blaze under control in 30 minutes.

Two firefighters sustained slight injuries and were transported for checkout.

A total of five occupants were displaced.

Thankfully, working smoke alarms alerted occupants.Reports of entrapment were unfounded after all of the occupants were out and accounted for prior to firefighters arrival.

Cause of the fire under investigation.
