Date: 8/28/2020
Location: Woodside, Queens.

A little before noon on Friday smoke emanating from a storage unit activated an alarm inside the U-Haul facility prompting an FDNY response.

First-due units confirmed a heavy smoke condition on the second floor and transmitted the box (request for a full assignment including three engines and two ladders). Eventually the chief would transmit the 10-75 and put ‘All Hands’ to work as units made their way through heavy smoke to find a 10’x10′ storage unit fully involved in fire.

The incident was placed under control in less than one hour.
