Stockton Fire History Originals – On March 27th, 2020, Stockton Firefighters responded to a structure fire in the 2400 block of Douglas Road. Engine 7 arrived on scene reporting heavy fire from a single story, flat top with exposures threatened on the B and D sides. The four Engines on the first alarm were able to deploy an 1 3/4 attack line, two exposure lines, and a 2 1/2 attack line in a matter of minutes and knock down the blaze. Crews were able to protect the two exposures and save of much of the structure as possible.
Truck 4 arrived and committed to a Vent-Enter-Search operation to the rear two bedroom windows. This operation requires entering the structure without the protection of a hose line. A VES is implemented to provide search and rescue for any citizens that may be trapped by fire in the structure. In a ‘Risk vs Gain’ analysis, the opportunity to save life outweighs the danger of firefighters entering the structure.

The fire was extinguished extremely quickly without issue or injury. Firefighters remained on scene for more than another hour to overhaul and conduct an investigation. We are proud to serve the citizens of Stockton, California.
