One man was killed and another left clinging to life when a fire tore through a Brooklyn apartment building early Tuesday, officials said.
The blaze broke out inside the three-story brick building on Vermont St. near Dumont Ave. in East New York about 1:15 a.m.
As firefighters fought the blaze, medics rushed two men to Brookdale University Hospital, where one died a short time later. The other man is in critical condition.
Cops are working to identify both men.
A firefighter suffered a minor injury fighting the blaze, which was extinguished within an hour.
