Oct. 30—The Moline Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire Wednesday in the 4200 block of 11th Avenue A.

Firefighters arrived at around 11:40 a.m. and found a medium two-story multi-family housing unit with heavy smoke coming from one of the units.

According to a news release from the Moline Fire Department, ” … crews confirmed that all occupants had been alerted by working smoke detectors and successfully self-evacuated prior to the fire department’s arrival.”

The fire was contained within 15 minutes.

The Red Cross was contacted to assist a family displaced by the incident, providing them with necessary resources and support.

The Moline Fire Department received assistance from the Rock Island Fire Department, Rock Island Arsenal Fire Department, and East Moline Fire Department, the release said. The Moline Second Alarmers provided breathing air and hydration for the firefighters working at the scene. MidAmerican Energy assisted with securing utilities to the building to ensure safety.
