Melting Overhead Lines Threaten Nashua (NH) Fire Truck at Strip Mall Fire

Fire tore through a Nashua strip mall Friday evening, destroying the businesses inside.

The Nashua Fire Department said the fire is believed to have started around 7:30 p.m. inside the Lanna Asian Market at 495 Amherst St. in Nashua.

As the fire burned, it spread to overhead powerlines, Patch.com reports, and falling insulation from the power lines landed on fire apparatus below.

At one point, firefighters had to wet down one of the trucks and replace hose that was burned by the falling burning insulation.

The fire destroyed several businesses, including the Lanna market and Ciao’s Pizza. It remains under investigation.
