Mayday in Chicago, Two Firefighters Injured

One firefighter in fair to serious condition

CHICAGO, Illinois – A mayday was transmitted for two Chicago firefighters during a house fire Monday evening.

ABC7 Chicago reports that firefighters responded to a fire in the 8600 block of South Phillips on the South Side.

Fire officials say two firefighters were disoriented inside the burning house.

Two firefighters were transported to a local hospital, one in fair to serious condition.

Both are expected to be okay.

Six people were inside of the home and managed to escape safely.
