FireRescue Magazine: Second-Due Truck Ops

The assignment was quickly upgraded to 3 alarms as the entire 3rd floor quickly became engulfed in flames. The Tower arrived on side charlie and set up while 2 members went inside on their way to the 3rd floor.

After passing the second floor, flames appeared behind us, so we backed down as we had no water supply with us, and possibly no other way down the stairs.

Command requested everyone out of the building shortly after due to the roof caving in and the structural stability of the rest of the building becoming questionable.

Our crew remained just inside the doorway for a few moments more making sure the guys from the 66 Engine company got out of the building okay.

Tactics switched from interior work to exterior work with the towers from 66, 67, 50, and 63 flowing water and tearing down burning parts of the exterior.

Crews operated on scene for about 6 hours hitting hot spots and doing overhaul until the assignment was released. Willow Street Fire Company. Taken 12/06/2019
