Urban Desert News Service – Phoenix fire crews responded to reports of a house fire with heavy smoke and flames showing shortly after 3am near Highland and 27th Avenue.

A UDNS Photographer was blocks away as the call was dispatched and made it to the scene within minutes.

Crews made a fast attack on the intense blaze working quickly to protect neighboring houses from exposure. 3 residents and 2 pets have been displaced but managed to evacuate safely without any injuries.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
