Indianapolis Fire Department – 11:56 AM – Thankfully no injuries for the 45-year-old Republic Services driver who evacuated okay after his truck caught fire on I65 SB near East St.

After an unsuccessful attempt to extinguish the fire, he called 911.

IFD Firefighters responded and made quick work of the heavily involved truck. Firefighters utilized multiple handlines to attack blaze from all angles after the driver alerted crews that the truck is carrying an 1800 psi tank of natural gas.

I65 SB taffic was shut down for one hour as water supply was established and extinguishment continued. HazMat teams contained runoff and the health department was dispatched
