Houma, Louisiana Captain Lucky to Have Full Crew at House Fire

Having a full crew due to newly hired firefighters allowed Houma captain to save nearby homes during a mobile home fire.

Mar. 4–A fire destroyed a mobile home today in a Houma trailer court.

The blaze occurred around 11:21 a.m. on the 2600 block of Daniel Turner Trailer Court, the Houma Fire Department said. The trailer was engulfed in flames and a second mobile home was exposed to heavy heat.

Crews extinguished the fire within minutes before a second engine arrived, officials said. Firefighters worked to prevent the flames from spreading to the second trailer.

Though the residents were home during the time of the blaze, no injuries were reported.

The case of the fire remains under investigation.
