Rockland Report – On Saturday, January 11, 2020, a fire broke out in a home in Hillcrest (Rockland County), New York.

When First Responders arrived at the home located on Rockland Lane (in Hillcrest) the home was engulfed in flames. Immediate reports were that there was a person trapped inside the home.

Multiple Rockland Fire Departments would rush to the scene provide mutual aid.

Fire Departments on scene: Hillcrest, South Spring Valley, Spring Valley,Tallman, Nanuet, Monsey, Tallman, New City, and Suffern. Spring Hill Volunteer Ambulance Corps were staged for any injuries.

The fire would tragically take the life of beloved Spring Valley High School security guard and soccer coach Venel Edouardo

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Ramapo Police Investigations Division and Rockland County Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
