September has been a busy month in the FDNY’s 49th Battalion and Saturday was no exception. The chief was on his way to an odor of gas run when the Queens dispatch office began to receive numerous 911 calls reporting a house fire on 69th Street in Elmhurst.
The chief was ordered to redirect from the gas run to the fire. Engine 307 gave the urgent 10-75 reporting they had a fire on the 2nd floor. Companies quickly stretched lines and knocked the fire down.
