Drug Lab Fire

San Bernardino Co FFs – Incident Video Release: On October 1st, 2018 at 12:24 PM SBCoFD responded to a residential structure fire in the 7400 block of Catawba dr. in The city of Fontana. 

Medic Engine 78 arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and fire from the Charlie side of the structure. Interior crews reported heavy fire in the kitchen of the house. Vertical ventilation was coordinated with interior crews. 

During the overhaul phase large quantities of chemicals and evidence of a drug lab were found and the incident was quickly transitioned to a haz mat incident. The fire was ultimately declared out approximately 20 minutes later. 

San Bernardino County Fire responded with 4 Paramedic Engines, 1 paramedic squad, 1 Paramedic Truck, 1 Battalion chief, 1 investigator, and 2 hazmat units for a total of 19 personnel. There were no injuries to civilians or fire personnel. The cause is currently under investigation.
