A fire in a cluttered home early Wednesday morning proved frustrating for firefighters.
The fire was reported at about 4:30 a.m. in 1300 block of Greer Street. When they arrived, firefighters found the fire burning in the front room of the home.
However, cluttered conditions in that room made it difficult to extinguish the fire and the home sustained smoke damage throughout.
Two people who escaped the fire were taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke exposure, but were expected to be OK.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
