Cleveland Firefighter Falls Through Floor at House Fire

A Cleveland firefighter was injured after falling through a floor and into the basement during a house fire.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — News 5 Cleveland reports that a Cleveland firefighter was injured while fighting a house fire on Monday evening.

The Cleveland Division of Fire stated that firefighters responded to a fire in an abandoned house on Columbia Avenue at approximately 11:30 p.m.

The lieutenant of Engine 30 fell through the first floor and into the basement.

Officials say he suffered injuries to a knee and shoulder.

The lieutenant was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center.
