Chicago (IL) Fire Spreads to Four Houses

A 69-year-old man suffered serious injuries in a house fire in the Logan Square neighborhood Tuesday morning.

The fire started broke in a three-story, single-family home in the 2400-block of North Washtenaw Avenue at about 6 a.m., WLS reports.

The fire went to multiple alarms as it spread to three nearby homes, driven by wind. At one point, flames and smoke intensified, forcing firefighters off of one of the rooftops.

Firefighters believe the fire started on the back porch of the first home. That house is a total loss. The fire victim is expected to be OK.
