A house fire in North Catasauqua

Late Sunday night Stations 18 (North Catasauqua) and 2 (Catasauqua) along with Medic 75 were signaled to 1144 Fourth Street in North Catasauqua for a house fire.

Police arrived first and reported smoke from the basement. Truck 18 arrived and investigated a smoke condition in the basement. Catasauqua Engine 2 arrived and stretched a hand line with 18 to the basement using the front door. There was no other access to the basement from the exterior.

A working fire was declared by Deputy 2 (kalynych). Greenawalds Rescue 11 was dispatched for the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT). Northampton Borough Engine 42 was also on the scene.
