Ardy, an elephant at The Miami-Dade Zoo, got a little cool-down Wednesday courtesy of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
Firefighters attached one of their hoses to a fire hydrant at the zoo and provided a shower for the 11-year-old elephant to help him beat the heat.
The public was invited to watch the event to provide some education about Ardy and his species.
Today, #MDFR #Engine37 provided enrichment to Ardy, a @ZooMiami elephant. Using a fire hose, the crew helped give Ardy a refreshing bath to cool off from the heat! Enrichment sessions like this provide a fun mental and physical stimulation for the animals. pic.twitter.com/Pa6TFvEsDr
