Adams County (WA) Firefighter Suffers Smoke Inhalation in Wildfire That Destroyed Six Homes

Residents of the small town of Lind evacuated Thursday when a brush fire grew to 2,000 acres and destroyed at least 14 structures, including six houses.

Adams County Firefighter Eric Labes had to be airlifted to a hospital in Spokane when he suffered severe smoke inhalation fighting the fire.

The fire started at about 11:45 a.m. on Thursday and burned 2,000 acres, according to the Washington State Fire Marshal.

Labes’ wife Kelsey shared that he was doing well in the hospital and expected to make a complete recovery. No one else was injured in the fire.
