Volunteer Firefighter Continues to Help Community After Death

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. — After a local volunteer firefighter was killed in a tragic accident over the July 4th holiday, he’s still helping others.

Matthew McAlexander, 19, of Kernersville was tubing with his younger brother during their family vacation in Nebraska. The driver of another boat hit their tube. Both of the brothers died.
