Video: Teen Jumps to Escape Vegas Fire

LAS VEGAS (AP) – A teenager was taken to the hospital after jumping from the upstairs window of a burning Las Vegas home.

Las Vegas firefighters say the teen suffered minor injuries in the incident about 5:45 p.m. Thursday.

Crews say they got multiple calls about heavy smoke coming from a house on Ocean Port Drive, in the Lakes area of Las Vegas.

They say it took 30 minutes to get the blaze under control.

Investigators say they believe the fire started in the family room around the sofa. The exact cause is under investigation.

Damage is estimated at $150,000.
