Video: Rescuers save Distraught Man on Maryland Bridge

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WTTG) – Rescue workers helped a distraught man to safety after he climbed out onto the Chesapeake Bay Bridge early Thursday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the situation around 6:30 a.m. after a man left his car running on the eastbound span of the bridge and climbed out onto a steel girder.

Traffic sat at a stand-still for nearly two hours and backups stretched for miles.

An emergency worker was able to make contact with man and help him to safety.

It is unclear if any charges will be filed.
