USFA: Tennessee On-Duty Death

The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official on-duty death of Firefighter David Schnepp, 43, of the Carter’s Valley Fire Department on February 24, 2013.

A short time after fighting a brush fire Sunday evening, February 24, Firefighter Schnepp passed away from a cause still to be determined.

To date, 6 firefighter fatalities have been reported to USFA in 2013. Year-to-date monthly and annual USFA firefighter fatality reports are posted online at http://www.usfa.fema.gov/fireservice/fatalities/statistics/ff_stats.shtm


Fatality status is provisional and may change as USFA contacts State Fire Marshals to verify fatality incident information.
