The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official on-duty death of Captain Gregory D. Barnas, 57, of the Wallington Fire Department on February 28, 2014.
Firefighter Barnas died of injuries sustained when he fell from the roof of a burning commercial structure (restaurant) while, according to reports, he was working to ventilate the building. Investigation into the fatal incident continues by authorities.
