USFA: Michigan Firefighter Trainee Dies after Training

The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official on-duty death of Firefighter Trainee Charles C. Adams, Jr, 47, of the Spring Arbor Township Fire Department on January 2, 2016.

Firefighter Trainee Adams was participating in search and rescue training at the local fire academy. He became ill and momentarily lost consciousness. Displaying heart attack-like symptoms, he was transported by ambulance to the hospital. Firefighter Trainee Adams passed away at the hospital later that evening from a cause yet to be determined.
