USFA: Idaho On-Duty Death

While on duty, Chief Jon Delvalle was exposed to a patient who was COVID-19 positive. He subsequently contracted the virus and passed away.

The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official on-duty death of Chief Jon Delvalle, 63, of the Garden Valley (ID) Fire Protection District on September 14, 2021.

On Aug. 15, 2021, while on duty, Chief Jon Delvalle was exposed to a patient who was COVID-19 positive. He subsequently contracted the virus and passed away on Sept. 14, 2021.
