USFA: Heart Attack Claims Kansas Firefighter after Training

The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official on-duty death of Firefighter Ronnie W. Peek, 49, of the Garden City Fire Department on January 22, 2015.

Firefighter Peek fell ill while participating in fire department mandated air management training. He was subsequently transported to the hospital where he suffered a heart attack and passed away.

Fatality status is provisional and may change as USFA contacts State Fire Marshals to verify fatality incident information.
