Three-Alarm Warehouse Fire in Philadelphia

Bridesburg, Pa. (WTXF) Fire ripped through a 3-story building Thursday night in Philadelphia’s Bridesburg section. Neighbors were brought out of their homes by the sounds of sirens.

“Look at me. I’m shaking,” said Kathleen Mazzuca. She lives near the paper warehouse on Garden Street where firefighters rushed to douse flames.

“The flames were coming out the side the top. I just took notice of all the smoke coming out over there,” said Mazzuca.

It started just after 7 p.m. The fire was fully involved through the roof where the flames were most visible.

“Just balls of red and orange everywhere,” said Mazzuca.

At one point the fire appeared to be under control with white smoke billowing from the building but then flames began to show from the roof again.

“My daughter saw black smoke and when we looked over it was just this big ball of red coming from the building and all the windows. It was pretty incredible,” said Carmen DeJesus.

“They seem to have it under control. Hopefully no one got hurt,” said DeJesus.

Three hours after the blaze broke out fire fighters were still on scene as hot spots flared up on the roof of the building.
